Bad Santa Cocoa

Santa Claus loves his hot cocoa and I love my holiday Peppermint Mocha from Starbucks. So why not combine the two for a hot holiday drink?!

What You’ll Need.

  • Godiva Chocolate Liqueur
  • Peppermint Schnapps optional
  • Hot Cocoa Mix
  • Frother
  • Whipped Cream
  • Candy Cane
  • Mug

Fill your mug a little more than half way with hot water. I usually use a tea kettle since I make at least two at a time. Add 1-2 scoops of your favorite powdered hot cocoa to the boiling water. My favorite way to make hot chocolate recently is with the Vital Proteins Hot Cocoa Collagen Latte mix. This mix not only has the benefit of collagen, but it is 1 gram of sugar, dairy free and gluten free. Most hot chocolate mixes have dairy products included in its ingredients and has always been an issue for me. I highly recommend Vital Cocoa if you have not tried it!

After you have added your choice of cocoa mix, take your frother (you can also just mix by hand) and mix until the powder is fully dissolved. Once the powder is dissolved, add 3 ounces of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur. If you want to add the Peppermint Schnapps, add 2 ounces of Godiva Chocolate Liqueur and 1 ounce Peppermint. Mix together with the frother once again.

Next, top your frothy mug with whipped cream. Stick in your candy cane and enjoy!

The candy cane dissolves pretty quickly and gives the hot cococa a hint of peppermint. If you are a lover of peppermint like me, the peppermint schnapps really enhances the flavor.
