Cupid Made Me Do It
February 14th is my favorite. It is probably just because of my love for all things pink, glitter and hearts…and the fact that it involves lots and lots of chocolate!
A little extra love is definitely in the air, but it doesn’t necessarily have to be romance. Whether you are celebrating a romantic holiday or having a Galentine’s weekend, I have rounded up date ideas and treats for you and your favorite babes!
Breakfast
Brunch is pretty much essential for any special occasion. Is is just me? I start the day off by making some fun heart waffles! Add red or pink food coloring for a little something extra. If you are feeling extra adventurous, try my Pink Velvet Waffles recipe.
What You’ll Need:
- 2 cups Flour
- 4 teaspoons of Baking Powder
- 2 tablespoons of Sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon Salt
- 1 Stick of Butter
- 2 cups of Buttermilk (for dairy free option, lemon juice + choice of milk product)
- 2 teaspoons Vanilla Extract
- 2 Eggs
- Pink Food Coloring
- Chocolate Chips (for topping)
In a large bowl, mix together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, sugar, and salt. Set aside and in a separate bowl, whisk together the butter, buttermilk (or it’s substitute! I add 2 tablespoons of lemon juice to two cups of almond milk) vanilla, eggs, and food coloring. You only need a few drops of coloring, but can alter for preference.
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients, and stir until combined. Let sit 5-10 minutes.
While the batter is resting, heat your waffle iron. Preheating is not necessary if you are using the mini heart waffle maker. Add the batter and cook until crispy. Serve hot. Add chocolate chips (my personal favorite), whipped cream, nuts or berries as a topping. Add some mimosas and enjoy!
I will use any excuse to add a little extra glitter to life! For a fun table setting, coat your champagne bottle of choice in glitter!

Galentine’s Ideas:
- Go get manis & pedis together or do them yourselves at home!
- Rom Com movie marathon.
- Binge Bridgerton on Netflix.
- Have a Britney Spears dance party.
- At home spa day: hair masks, face masks, facials, foot soak, break out that back massager and light some candles.
- A DIY matcha mask: mix 2 teaspoons if water, 1 tablespoon of matcha powder, 1-2 teaspoons of honey, and 1 tablespoon of olive oil. Apply to face and let it sit for about 10 minutes, then rinse off and enjoy hydrated and glowing skin!
- Do a themed self-timer photo shoot. Add fun Valentines day props and have fun with it!
- Add hearts and balloons and glitter champagne!
- Have a Gossip Girl marathon and drink martinis or champagne. XOXO, you know you love me.
- Create your own version of Painting with a Twist! Set it up on your own or schedule one of the online hosted sessions. Add in your favorite Valentine inspired cocktails. (See below for my favorite recipes)
- Host a bake off or just have a cookie party and your girlfriends make their treats beforehand.
Date Night In:
- Formal dinner in. Get dressed up and order take out from your favorite restaurant. Chick fil A always works too! But you better order before Valentine’s Day since they are closed on Sunday!
- Massages! Give each other one or hire a massage therapist to come to your home.
- Movie night with popcorn and all of the snacks. A movie fort and pizza delivery is a must! Movie projectors and star projectors up the streaming experience!
- Take an online cooking class together.
- Make a charcuterie board and have an at-home wine tasting. A great option for Galentines too!
- Order a fondue set on Amazon and enjoy all the desserts. I mean who could ever turn down a chocolate fountain!? I listed my favorite choices.
Fondue
Chocolate Fondue: 6 ounces of semi sweet chocolate, 6 ounces of milk chocolate, 1/2 cup of milk (It is better to use whole milk, but I personally can not have milk so I use soy milk. It is the thickest/heaviest of the non-dairy alternatives. But any milk product will still work!), 1/2 teaspoon of vanilla extra and sea salt to taste.
Champagne White Chocolate Fondue: 1 cup white chocolate (It can help with melting and consistency to add 2-3 squares of white baking chocolate but it is not necessary), 1/2 cup heavy whipping cream (Silk makes a non-dairy option), 1/2 cup of champagne of choice,
Dippers: bananas, strawberries or any berries, celementines, cherries, coconut chunks, oreos, milanos, piroette cookies, marshmallows, pretzel rods, angel food cake (cut in cubes), biscotti, animal crackers, graham crackers, or vanilla wafers.
My Strawberry Champagne cupcakes are a great dessert choice! You can make them beforehand or bake them with your babes and enjoy the rest of the bottle while you are doing so!
A simpler dessert is placing pre-made cookie dough in your mini heart waffle maker.
Valentine’s Day Cocktails:
- Cotton Candy Champagne
- Heart Eyes Bubbly
- Magic Martini
What You’ll Need:
- Cranberry Juice
- Lemon Juice
- Cotton Candy
- Vodka
- Cocktail Shaker
- Ice
- Martini Glass
In a cocktail shaker, mix 3 ounces of vodka, a splash of cranberry juice, a splash of lemon juice and ice. Shake vigorously until ice cold.
