My Best Purchases of 2020
Every year I buy clothes, shoes, beauty products, home items, decor, groceries and all the things. But sometimes, there are some items I purchase and they leave me wondering how I have lived my entire life up until this point without them!?
I rounded up my best purchases of 2020. These are all things I highly recommend that I discovered in the year of quarantine.
Three of my favorite purchases of the year are life changing hair products, that reduce the hair wash days and still keep me looking fabulous: the Revlon One-Step Brush, the Mermade Hair Waver and Living Proof hair products.
Revlon One-Step Hair Dryer and Volumizer Hot Air Brush
So the Revlon Hair Dryer Brush basically went viral this past year. It has 145k reviews on Amazon, which is pretty insane!!! But the hype is real. I promise. You already know I love a good two for one deal, and this is the epitome of that for all hair tools with the combination of a hair dryer and a round brush. This Revlon Brush can cut your hair routine in half!
I personally do not use it to blow dry my hair, but a lot of my girlfriends swear by it. They say its quick, easy and gives their hair all the volume. I use the Revlon to refresh my dirty hair with dry shampoo. When my hair is looking like it needs a little extra help, I spray my roots with dry shampoo and turn the Revlon brush on ‘high heat’. I go over my roots in layers a few times and then switch the setting to ‘cold’. Then I go over my roots with the cold air once or twice. Just like magic, my hair is attractive!
Hair Waver
The Mermade Hair Waver is the hair tool that every girl needs right now. My waver has kicked all my other styling tools sorry butts to the curb. It is simple and quick to use, and gives the best waves! I rarely use anything else these days.
I honestly had zero interest in the mermaid waver when I first started seeing it all over the internet. It reminded me of those hair crimpers we used in the early 2000s. I realize now that was not a cute look. BUT. . . 3 factors changed my mind, and I am not ashamed to admit the reasoning I caved and ordered one.
- My girlfriend, who has the best taste in everything, told me I needed to order one immediately. That it literally changed her life. (She wasn’t kidding!)
- It is pink and gray.
- The ad literally says, recreate the dreamy waves by Kim Kardashian. I could have Kardashian hair!
I was officially sold. Add to cart immediately.
After a few days of using my Mermade hair waver, I was hooked. I can style my hair in literally 5 minutes, and these waves extend the lifetime of my hair. I am not going to openly admit how many days I go between hair wash days, but I will tell you this thing is good.
Bondiboost is the one I see advertised the most, but there lots of varieties at different price points available.
Living Proof Products
I run on caffeine and dry shampoo literally. I use all the dry shampoo on a regular basis to prolong my hair wash days. I have tried SO MANY different brands over the years at various price points. Despite the numerous good reviews I had been hearing about, I was not justifying $28 for a 4 ounce bottle. And at the rate I use dry shampoo, that price would be a monthly expense!
BUT the same girlfriend that knows all the best things, that recommended the hair waver, finally convinced me to give it a try. She said that even though it was pricey it was 10000% worth it, and I would be surprised by how much less product I would use. Guess what . . .once again she was right! I literally use this stuff every day and will never go back! I add a spray down my part, to the left, and to the right, every night to let my hair marinate. I rarely need to add a little extra the next morning!

I am usually terrible about drinking my water! My body is usually running on coffee and red wine. Getting that needed water intake is even worse when I get busy at the office. I was skeptical at first, but I found a great pair on sale and took the plunge. These glasses make such a difference! I have even put my blue light glasses over my regular frames no matter how ridiculous I may look. The scientific evidence may not be all there but I am a believer!
