Birthday Cake Cinnabons
I never thought Cinnabon buns could get any better, until I made Funfetti ones! Cinnabon + colorful sprinkles is the best breakfast to celebrate a birthday.
You may be thinking, that sounds like a big commitment first thing in the morning, but I have a shortcut recipe for you. Instead of making the Birthday Cake Cinnamon buns from scratch, you can buy all of the ingredients at the store and add a little TLC.
What You’ll Need.
- Pillsbury Grands Cinnamon Rolls
- Funfetti Cake Mix
- Rainbow Jimmies (Sprinkles)
- 2 tablespoons of Butter Softened
- Sheet Pan
- Candles
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Open the Grands Cinnamon Rolls and unravel them flat onto the counter. Once flattened sprinkle the funfetti cake mix until it coats the dough. Sprinkle a layer of jimmies on top of the cake mix.
Now roll the dough up slowly to its original position. Once the dough is rolled back up, cut into slices. The cake mix and sprinkles will fall out of the dough a little when doing so. Place the cut dough onto a heavily greased sheet pan.
Bake for 25 minutes.
While the buns are in the oven, it is time to prepare the frosting. In a microwavable bowl, add the icing that is packaged with the cinnamon rolls. Add 2 tablespoons of room temperature butter and 1/4 up of cake mix to the bowl. Do not mix ingredients together. Place in microwave for 30 seconds. Now that the frosting mixture is warm, mix the ingredients together until smooth.
The cinnamon buns need to fully cool, about 10 minutes, before applying the frosting. Frost, add birthday candles, a side of bacon and Prosecco, and you have the perfect birthday breakfast!
