Spanx Dupes

Spanx faux leather leggings have been one of the most loved fashion items on the market for years. These leggings literally have a cult following and rarely go on sale. I have been asked many times, are they worth the hype?! I can wholeheartedly tell you, Spanx leggings are 1000% worth it.

Spanx

These leggings are not only high quality, but they are slimming and stylish. The compression holds all of the things in without compromising the comfort of leggings. Spanx leggings are high waisted with tummy control. There is a piped side seam and no front seam, that when combined with the double layers, create the perfect elasticity and most flattering appearance. These leggings do not have a plastic feel, but still maintain the faux leather appearance.

Spanx are $98 and run TTS. I wear a regular small. Spanx does offer petite, regular and tall. They come in 5 colors: black, olive, bronze, navy and wine.

The Spanx are clearly my favorite choice, but the price tag can make anyone hesitant to take the plunge and make the purchase. At nearly $100, Spanx faux leather leggings are a splurge, so I rounded up my 3 favorite dupes!

Pink Lily

The Pink Lily ‘Just The Beginning Black leggings’ are pebbled faux leather leggings and are probably my most worn pair. They are super affordable at a fraction of the price of Spanx, while maintaining the same look and feel. This pair of leggings is comparable to Spanx in material and quality, but it does have the front seam. The sides are also a full seam instead of the piping. Both pairs of leggings are high waisted and suck you in, but Pink Lily’s version is a little less constricting.

American Eagle

The American Eagle ‘Offline The Hugger High Waisted Crackle Legging’ are the most talked about dupe for the Spanx leggings. I had to check out the hype and try a pair for myself. For me, the biggest selling point is that the American Eagles leggings offer more color options than any other brand. They have 12 colors to choose from in the crackle! So many options! I have the olive color and they are a great alternative to the classic black legging. They come in 12 variations and colors including: blue, navy, a copper, plum, black, olive, brown, and light brown.

I personally do not agree with the hype of these leggings. The crackle leggings are a lot thicker and less flexible than Spanx faux leather leggings. American Eagle’s variation also provides a plastic like feel. These are the least flattering of the original Spanx faux leather leggings and dupes, but still a great designer dupe.

Amazon

The Amazon faux leather leggings from Retro Gong are great affordable dupes for the Spanx version. Amazon has over 3K reviews on these super stretchy snakeskin leggings. They are high waisted like all of the other pairs and the same texture as the Spanx and American Eagles pairs. Out of all 4 pairs, the Amazon pair provides the most elasticity. Retro Gong is also the only brand that does not have the front seam! No front seam makes the leggings so much more flattering than one may realize.
